Later Isn't a Plan

"Later" isn't a plan. Jason calls out the trap of waiting for the perfect Monday to finally start, complete with a Sunday night DoorDash from Banh Mi Station, and makes a direct, no-nonsense case for taking action now. Sometimes the only thing between where you are and where you keep saying you want to be is one decision.

You read the last email. You got to the part where you thought "yeah, I should probably do that," and then went back to whatever you were doing.

No judgment. We're all busy people.

But let's talk about "I'll start later" for a second.

Later has been showing up for about two years now. Later is the person who keeps saving the healthy eating and fitness posts on Instagram but never does anything with them. Who swears Monday is the day, then DoorDashes Sunday night and resets the clock (can't beat Banh Mi Station on a lazy Sunday evening).

Later isn't a plan.

The gap between where you are and where you keep saying you want to be doesn't close on its own. You already know nothing changes if nothing changes.

The only question left is whether you take the step. Or whether you read this one and go right back to waiting.

Let's win the day.

Jason Kelly
